The Den:

We have had another busy week this week, with a focus on vehicles. The children have enjoyed rolling them in paint as our main activity. We also have been using the pull along cars too which they have really enjoyed!

Communication and language:

Laney planned a car activity. We encouraged the children to dip the wheels into the paint then make marks on the paper. The children were really intrigued by the marks left behind! We sang lots of songs as the children played like ‘driving in my car’ and ‘wheels on the bus’ so the children could make links to the songs.

We have continued the children’s interest in bugs this week as we spot lots of insects in the outdoor area. We have been singing ‘the ladybird song’ to the children during group time which they have enjoyed! This song is a great way to introduce early pre-positional language as we sing about flying ‘up and down’ and ‘high and low’. Below I have attached a link to the song if you would like to sing it with your child.

Outdoor learning:

The children expressed interest in the hoopla hoops this week so we have been exploring them in different ways. We spoke “ready steady go” and rolled them around the garden for the children to retrieve. They then made an attempt to roll them down the inclines and copied our language.

Staffing updates:

Holly is on annual leave next week.

Parents as partners:

A link to ‘the ladybird song’ if you would like to sing it at home with your child.
