The Nest

On Tuesday afternoon, the Nest and Den children enjoyed a yoga class led by Hayley from Kalma Life. As calming instrumental music played, everyone sat beautifully. The children watched the parachute being lifted high and low by the adults, smiling and babbling with joy, and others cheerfully making sounds and raising their hands. They had fun with the bubbles, watching them float in the air. The children also enjoyed listening to and focusing on the song “Mr Golden Sun,” which all staff sang together.

Communication and Language

The children have been thoroughly enjoying these group time sessions, demonstrating wonderful engagement and focus. Lately, our group times have been filled with the joy of nursery rhymes. The children listened attentively to various rhymes, including “Old MacDonald Had a Farm,” “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” and “Little Peter Rabbit.” It was truly heart warming to observe their enjoyment of the rhymes, especially as they intently watched the accompanying puppets and sat attentively alongside their peers. Their participation and positive interactions during these sessions have been wonderful to witness.

Physical Development

The children have explored the farm sensory trays with Weetabix, cornflakes and rice crispies. They used their hands to feel the texture, by scrunching it in their hands, making a crunching sound. The children moved the animals around the tray saying different animal and babble sounds like “moo, bahh, neigh”. The children explored the tray for a long period of time, as they were fully engrossed in what they were doing. There was some lovely interactions observed between the children with lots of sharing of the animals and lots of babble sounds were noticed.

Emily is on Annual leave Thursday and Friday.

Parents as partners

On Thursday 2nd July we will have our Summer term stay and play sessions. The theme this term will be “Belonging”. The nest timing will be 9:30-10:30

To ensure safety of the children, we ask that all parents/carers close the gate when entering and exiting the premises.
