The Nest:

The last week of the academic year! It has been a pleasure to care for all the children over the past year. They have made so much progress and we are so proud of each and every child ❤️

We have had a busy week this week in The Nest with a range of planned activities! The children have enjoyed play-dough, water play and exploration of rice with wooden scoops.

Communication and language:

The children enjoyed playing in the water tray with boats and balls. We introduced some new language to the children’s vocabulary like “boat, splish-splash” and “scoop and pour”. The children created lots of babble sounds as they played and were able to repeat back some of the words spoken to them.

We have been reading ‘look after us’ to the children this week, with the addition of the soft jungle animals that correlate to the book. Our youngest babies enjoyed feeling the soft texture of the animals whilst our older children enjoyed mimicking their sounds.

Physical development:

We made some play-dough this week for the children to explore. We added a range of natural resources to the play-dough for the children to manipulate the dough with, like lollypop sticks and wooden materials. The children used good fine motor skills to feel the texture of the dough. They squeezed, squashed and rolled the dough with their hands and had lots of fun!

Hope everyone has a lovely 6 weeks holiday, make sure you send photos of what you get up to via parent observation!
