Investigation Hub and Discovery Hub at Deckham

We have had a wonderful first week of the autumn term. It has been lovely to welcome back all of the children and families who are returning. Some of the children have new groups and key people this term, and they are already beginning to settle well into their new groups.

Over the summer, we enhanced the learning space by changing the layout of the classroom and adding some new resources. We are spending time introducing the children to the new areas, where resources are stored and what is available. We encourage the children to care for their environment through our tidy-time routine, which gives them ownership and a sense of responsibility for caring for their shared space.

A big welcome to all of our new children and families. The children have done so well with their settling-in sessions so far, as they begin to explore nursery and get to know the staff and their peers. Well done to you all!

We have also had some new staff join us this year from our other nursery in Bensham. All of the team are looking forward to an exciting year supporting the children’s learning and play.

You can find out who your child’s key person is by looking on their Famly profile.

For 3–4-year-olds, your child’s key person will be Hayley, Laura, Terri, Jodie or Lyneisha.

For 2-year-olds, your child’s key person will be Amy, Dianne, Danielle, Jodie or Lyneisha.

The children are also supported by Ethan, Sakar, Rob and Summaiya.

Claire is the Deputy Manager of the nursery.

Please check Famly regularly, as this is where we share key information, details of upcoming events and observations of your child’s learning and development.

We would also like to remind you to clearly label your child’s coat and belongings with their name and, for the safety of all children, that jewellery should not be worn at nursery.

We really value working in partnership with our families to ensure every child is happy, settled and thriving at nursery. If you have any questions, concerns or anything you would like to share, a member of staff will always be happy to have a chat with you.
