2-3: The Discovery Hub
We have had a lovely week in the Discovery Hub welcoming the new children and families to our room. We are very proud of how well the children have been settling back into routine and developing relationships with staff. The children have been excited to share their experiences while looking at the photos. Please feel free to send any photos in for the children to share with their peers and key workers.
Across the week, the children are beginning to explore new areas and resources as well as returning to their favourite areas. It has been lovely to see the children keen to explore the areas with their peers. During group time, we have been engaging in various activities such as rolling a ball to a peer to recognise new names. We have explored many turn taking activities across the week as the children exploring waiting for a turn or passing an item between their peers.
In the garden, the children have noticed the changes to the environment of the blossom trees. We have discussed how the blossom trees now have many pink and white flowers. While exploring in the garden, the petals began to fall down and the children described it as “it’s snowing”. The children have explored sweeping the petals, picking them up to add into the kitchen and explored trying to catch the falling petals in their hands. Some of the children tested out their ideas of gathering collections of petals into their hands before blowing them and observing the petals fall.
