The Nest/Then Den

The Den and Nest children have successfully adapted to their new environment after joining together for the past two weeks.

Playing and Exploring/Active Learning

The children have enjoyed mark making with easy grip crayons and pencils to create different marks and strokes. The children used their whole hand and pincer grasp to hold the crayons moving it around the paper. The children showed good control in creating their marks, showing a can do attitude.

Communication and Language

We have been looking at large books with hand puppets which the children have found this very exciting. The children listened intently to the story showing their engagement.

The children have enjoyed the song “Shakey shakey” using the sensory bottles to go along with the song.

Physical Development

Children enjoyed experimenting with objects that roll down the slide, anticipating the “Ready Steady go” instruction, repeating the process repeatedly for enjoyment.

The children thoroughly enjoyed their sensory room exploration, utilising the board, chains, buttons, and objects, while also being fascinated by the bubble tube’s colour change.

Song of the week

The children have been fostering their independence and choice through group activities by selecting props from the song box. The children showed their enjoyment by engaging with the songs with some lovely interactions.
