Hi just a quick one this week as it is the school holidays we have enjoyed a quieter week but there has still been lots of learning experiences going on in nursery.
Active learning
This week there has been much excitement around Easter 🐣. We have enjoyed many Easter activities and have also continued to follow the children’s interests from last week around animals. The children have made their own farms using resources around the nursery such as wood and sticks and then deciding which animals live on the farm. The children have enjoyed stories around animals and we have used puppets to further engage them and help the younger children learn the sounds of the animals. The children used play dough to make their own animal creations further developing their fine motor skills.
Our Easter activities have included decorating our own Easter eggs using a range of different resources such as feathers and Pom poms. We have made our own crispy cakes to take home, the children followed instructions brilliantly as they counted out the cups of rice crispies as they poured them in. They then mixed it and scooped it up into cake cases themselves. The children have also used paint to paint their own Easter bunny’s. 🐰
Outdoor environment
The children have took part in an Easter egg hunt outside they thoroughly enjoyed it and they decided to hide them their selves for their friends and the staff to find. Following the children’s interests and the weather the beach area has been open again and they have been emptying and filling the buckets with sand. Still continuing to use key vocabulary such as more, empty and full. The children have made their own sandcastles and have enjoyed using the rakes to take through the sand. As usual the children have enjoyed the bikes further developing their physical skills and have shown excellent turn taking whilst playing on them.
